Truck driver David Dopp from Santaquin was over the moon when he found out he had won a brand new Lamborghini Murcielago in the "Joe Schomo to Lambo" contest run by Maverik and teamgive.org. Unfortunately, only 6 hours later Dopp's new supercar spun out of control in a dramatic twist of events.

A proud father of six, Dopp picked the lucky number 6 when asked to draw a number in the final of the contest, where he faced 9 other finalists in September 2011.

He beat the other qualifiers to win the supercar and was announced as the winner at a halftime show event at a football game at Brigham Young University.

His prize: a stunning Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. With 640 horsepower, the car is capable of reaching 205 mph and can go from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.

As part of the prize, he was offered $5,000 of high-performance car driving lessons to make sure he would make the most of his amazing new motor.

“That’s a lot of power for one man to have,” said Dopp of his first ride in the lime green Lambo. “It’s so crazy, I feel like I’m in a dream.”

Unfortunately, Dopp didn't get the chance to take up the offer of driving lessons from Maverik. Only 6 hours later, he lost control of the supercar and ended up crashing it in a field.
